Brain Fog Remedies
Get Plenty of Sleep
It is important for your brain to get sleep. Memory, creativity, judgment and attention are all impaired. You are unable to remember what you learned the previous day.
In our society, people often brag about their stressful lives as if stress was a good thing. Stress is not good for your brain or the rest of your body. It can literally cause your brain to shrink. Needless to say, stress is not beneficial to people with mental illnesses. A good way to reduce stress is through exercising and eating a balanced diet.
Establish or Reestablish Goals
During my last brain fog episode, I could not think at all. My mind was all over the place and I could not finish a thought. I grappled with how I could make it through this thick brain fog. During my quiet time with God, He helped me to establish some goals and reestablish others. This simple task brought my thoughts into better focus and my brain began to clear. An example of a goal could be to brush your teeth in the morning. That is huge for someone who can barely make it out of bed in the first place.
Avoid Alcohol and Drugs
Alcohol affects judgment and motor skills. Eventually, drinking alcohol will affect the brain making it difficult to maintain optimal focus. The substances you are abusing along with the medication you are taking can have devastating affects on the brain.
