We have had 23 school shootings since January 1, 2018.  That averages out to be about 1 shooting per week.  The sad thing is we are not even half-way through this calendar year!  When will it stop?  I used to teach middle school in Kentucky.  I could not imagine what it would be like for me to wake up every morning to the uncertainties of this world.  And what about my students?  Every morning is the same thing, tummies are hard as rocks, heads pulse with pain, hands sweaty with anxiety.  School is hard enough on kids.  They do not need school shootings!

I have the link to an article I wrote for Psych Central.  In the article, I give 11 tips to help parents and teachers and grandparents and professors and Sunday school teachers to talk with their student about school shootings.  I hope and pray it helps at least one student.
